Supporting Youth Workers

In the winter of 2021, Home Base YK ran a short-term project for people who support youth in the NWT. Home Base YK provided the option for 26 people in the NWT to sign up for an online course or join a book club for free, to increase their understanding and ability to support youth in their community. All participants received a $500 honorarium. The project ran from February 1 - March 31 2021.

Future Programming

This program was a big successful and Home Base YK received wonderful feedback from all participants. Should Home Base YK secure funding for future programming like this, we plan to do so as it is a wonderful experience for youth support workers to increase their knowledge and capacity to support youth in their lives.
