If you are interested in cooking with youth at the Youth Dorms or the Youth Centre, we would love to have you join our volunteer team! Sharing a meal is one of the most meaningful ways to connect, and cooking together creates a welcoming space where young people can learn new skills, build confidence, and enjoy a sense of community.
As a cooking volunteer, you won’t just be preparing food—you’ll be mentoring, encouraging, and engaging with youth in a positive and supportive environment. Whether you’re teaching basic kitchen skills, introducing a favourite family recipe, or helping youth plan and prepare a full meal, your involvement can make a lasting impact. No professional culinary experience is required—just a willingness to participate, collaborate, and foster a safe and respectful atmosphere.
To get started, please visit our volunteer page and sign up as a cooking volunteer.
The orientation will provide you with important information about our organization, our expectations for volunteers, and best practices for working with youth. The training component will cover topics such as communication strategies, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and creating an inclusive, supportive environment in the kitchen.
