Youth Mental Health and Addictions Program
The Youth Mental Health and Addictions Program is run out of the Yellowknife Youth Centre. Youth can make appointments with the in-house Mental Health and Addictions Worker to talk about any challenges they have been having with their mental health and/or addictions. The worker will work with youth to create a plan to go forward, and will refer youth to other services where needed.

Why is this program important?
Mental health is just as essential as physical health.In any given year 1 IN 5 Canadians experiences a mental illness.Young people aged between 12 and 24 are more likely to experience mental illness and or substance use disorders than any other age group.Our program offers a strength-based approach and follows a trauma informed care to help youth live a healthy lifestyle and build resiliency.
Who is this program for?
This program is for any youth aged 12 -24 who need support to deal with any challenges that they may be experiencing with their mental health or addictions.

This program is funded by the GNWT Department of Health and Social Services.
