Youth Mental Health and Addictions Program
The Youth Mental Health and Addictions Program is run out of the Yellowknife Youth Centre. Youth can make appointments with the in-house Mental Health and Addictions Worker to talk about any challenges they have been having with their mental health and/or addictions. The worker will work with youth to create a plan to go forward, and will refer youth to other services where needed.
Why is this program important?
Youth need someone who they can talk to openly about their mental health and / or addictions challenges. Having someone who is available and present at the Youth Centre, and always available through text, is very important for youth.
Who is this program for?
This program is for any youth aged 12 -24 who need support to deal with any challenges that they may be experiencing with their mental health or addictions.
This program is funded by the GNWT Department of Health and Social Services.
